Preparing for the 2006 Childcare Census
There are several items of data that should be completed for all families that are expected to be in attendances during the week of the Childcare Census.
Parenting Details
For each family, select a parenting arrangement. If the regular parenting arrangement involves 2 parents or guardians, you must enter details for both parents or guardians.
Parent & Guardian Details
For each parent or guardian nominated on the General tab, you must indicate their current working arrangements and also the primary language spoken at home (Language position 1). If N/A is selected under languages, it is assumed that English is spoken at home. If you know that a language other than English is spoken at home, but are unsure what this language is, set Language 1 to "Other".
Child Details
For each child that is likely to attend during the census week, ensure that the following information is accurate:
Additionally, if the child's DOB is not clearly school or non-school age enter the approximate Starts School Date.
Preschool Activities
If you operate a room / roll that provides preschool activities, edit the roll on the admin page and tick "Provides Preschool Activities"
Marking the Roll
During census week you should mark the roll with full In / Out times for each child. The In / Out times for each child are part of the data required during the census.
